The radio functions perfectly though it will need a new cr2025 lithium battery for memory backup. This listing is for a Aiwa personal radio cassette player that does not play tapes. Secondly don't worry about the item getting damaged in transit I pack my merchandise very well as if were sending it to a friend or family member.

The tape transport seems to need new belts, it will not play, rewind, or fast forward you can hear motor noises coming from within while tries for a few seconds but is able move.
