Just my opinion but have owned and operated both. No automatic recording level setting. In common with all modern Sharp portable recorders:synchrony recording for digital that provides quick title transfer from original to newly recorded disc level control may be adjusted while is underway.

Madly support 3-step x-bass. Unfortunately, no Sharp earbuds but will substitute 2 others, and manual. Personally I think the Sharp units had better builds and more durable than Sony versions. To any USA address.
