I tested the unit, the volume is low when using the headphone jack. The light on the front only illuminates when the unit is plugged into the ac power. Original box with Styrofoam insert.

I did not test the rechargeable battery pack. I tested the line out and the volume is fine, but there is some static. Offered here is a Sony Discmant66 cd compact disc player with am fm radio.
