Runs on 4 'c' batteries not included, and as far as I can see there is no ac adapter input. Volume pot is a bit crackly, as shown in the video. I had a very difficult time finding information about these units. To me, it looks like something that would have been used by an educational institution.
Very rare, vintage rca yzb 507y portable tape player recorder. Also may be known as a yzb 507. And on this particular tape, the fast forward function seems to catch for a second before it starts going, also as shown in the video. Unit has inputs for external mic, extension speaker, and remote.
If i'm not mistaken this unit does not have a built in mic, like most similar units do. The most interesting thing about this unit, to me, is the highly unusual design of the transport control it was made with only one switch, which is 'levered' in different directions for each function, not unlike a video game joystick. The cassette lid does not latch, and just sits loosely by virtue of gravity this is how the unit was made, which is also unusual and points to an earlier date of manufacture.
