Its in like new out of the package cosmetically but motor doesn't spin up. Everything else is like new cosmetically and does power up. I don't have time to investigate myself so i'll pass this one along someone that does. Because this thing is like a time capsule i've kept the batteries in case anyone wants to keep packaging and replace inside for that genuine look aha.

It has everything like new, original box, all the packaging warranty card, shoulder strap, ac power adapter, headphones, even batteries which are of course toast. A piece of portable audio history this is one the first cd players on market.

So could be the drive motor needs lubrication or for some reason optical pickup isn't focusing. Looks like its never had batteries in it still has the battery terminal plastic protector on.
